HYPNOBIRTHING IS A COMPLETE ANTENATAL PROGRAMME

It covers all stages and teaches simple & effective self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for labour and birth.

In the absence of fear and tension, or special medical circumstances, severe pain should not be an accompaniment of labour. Giving birth is a physiological function of women’s bodies.

By understanding how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony when the body is sufficiently relaxed, trusting of her own capabilities of birth, the mum will experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear the prevents the muscles from functioning as nature intended them to do. In this calm state, the body’s natural relaxant (endorphins) replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.

Your support throughout the pregnancy was really fantastic & we both really enjoyed the course, thank you!

Thanks again for an informative, enjoyable, practical, interesting and, most of all, helpful course. I am really looking forward to birthing our baby now – something I never thought I would ever say!

MORE ABOUT HYPNOBIRTHING

HypnoBirthing™ was originally established by Marie Mongan over 25 years ago, who is the founder of The HypnoBirthing Institute.

HypnoBirthing™- The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The concept is not new, but rather a “rebirth” of the philosophy of birthing as it existed thousands of years ago.

For most of their lives, women have been inundated with the negative stories of other women’s birth experiences. They have been conditioned to believe that excruciating pain is associated with labour and because of this, women today hold an unprecedented fear of giving birth. This extreme fear causes their bodies to become tense, and that tension prohibits their bodies from easily performing a normal physiological function. The result is exactly what they feared most: long, painful birthing or unnecessary intervention.

Through a very simple program of self-hypnosis and education, women learn to dismiss fear-based stories, misinformation, and birthing myths; and they are helped to see birth as normal. They learn to trust their bodies know-how to bring their babies into the world in the calm and gentle way that Nature intended.

SCIENTIFIC SUPPORT

The numerous studies conducted on the effect of hypnosis and HypnoBirthing during labour and birth support that women feel more confident and less fearful, experience less pain, fewer complications, lower intervention rates, less need for medication and had more energy.

Babies born using HypnoBirthing tend to be calmer, feed better, sleep better and experience less trauma, because they are gently and calmly breathed into the world at their own pace.

Scientific research has also shown that the babies usually have higher Agpar scores as well (a measure of how well your baby is doing immediately after the birth, and then five minutes later).

TheHypnoBirthing™ – The Marie Mongan Method was founded by Marie Mongan, is taught worldwide (the most widely used childbirth hypnosis program in the world) and has stood the test of time with over 25 years of experience, research and impressive results.

It is a tried and proven method that guides and prepares a woman in giving birth in a peaceful and extraordinarily beautiful manner. It is a program that considers the psychological, as well as the physical, well-being of the mother, her birth partner, and the new-born, independent of context, whether that be in the quiet of a home, a hospital, or a birth centre. The programme is a complete antenatal education: hypnosis for birth + physiological and practical education. More information on: http://www.hypnobirthing.com/what-is-hypnobirthing-definition/
